A Smarter, Cleaner Samsung Experience Powered by Android 15, One UI 8 Beta, based on Android 15, marks Samsung’s next big step toward blending AI-driven features, a more streamlined design, and tighter cross-device continuity across its Galaxy ecosystem. Currently rolling out to select Galaxy S and Z series devices, the beta introduces both under-the-hood enhancements and user-facing changes focused on productivity, privacy, and personalization. Samsung is clearly leveraging the power of Galaxy AI, seen first in the Galaxy S24 series, and now expanded in this update.
What’s New in One UI 8 Beta?
One of the major highlights is deeper Galaxy AI integration including on-device AI summarization, transcription, smart replies, and photo editing suggestions that run locally for better privacy and speed. The interface also feels more refined, with cleaner animations, updated icons, and a more minimalist lock screen and quick panel layout. Multitasking on foldables and large-screen devices is improved with adaptive app resizing, enhanced taskbar usability, and context-aware widgets that suggest actions based on time and usage patterns.
The keyboard and Samsung Notes also benefit from AI enhancements, offering grammar correction, content tone adjustment, and smart formatting tools. There’s also faster app launch speeds, reduced memory usage, and improved battery optimization, especially on Exynos variants.
Privacy, Security & Device Sync Upgrades
With Android 15 at its core, One UI 8 brings new privacy toggles like private space, partial screen sharing, and auto-reset permissions. Samsung adds to this with Knox Vault upgrades, deeper secure folder controls, and more transparency around background app activity. One UI 8 also enhances multi-device sync, allowing better continuity between Galaxy tablets, watches, Buds, and SmartThings devices including call handoff, clipboard sync, and more seamless file transfer.
Eligible Devices and Beta Rollout Timeline
The One UI 8 beta is first rolling out to Galaxy S24, S23, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and select Galaxy A series devices in markets like South Korea, Germany, India, and the US. Broader rollout to other supported models (like Galaxy S22, Fold 4, A54, A73) is expected in the coming weeks, with stable release planned for Q4 2025. Users enrolled in the Samsung Members Beta Program can check eligibility and register directly via the app.
